Make it your own

Lately I've been feeling a little bored at work. Not because its boring or awful, not in the least. I just find the rules boring. We aren't allowed to have our tattoo's showing, wear jewelry of any kind or have our hair down and we have to wear black. Not the best thing for me, who wears feathers in my hair and bracelets up to my elbows and about 4 necklaces. I understand all these rules (apart from the tattoo one) so it's fine, but I just want to show my personality a little bit more. So this week I decided to make an effort with my hair and make-up, whether its a little or a lot, I want to have something 'me' each day.

Day 1:Day 2Day 3

So as you can see, its not so amazing haha, but it brightens my day, and people have actually commented on it so I'm glad I'm making some sort of impact haha. It's been pretty difficult to think of things to do at 6am with only 5 mins to get ready but even just a bow clip makes all the difference. No doubt i'll be trawling Pinterest for some up-do inspiration. So if anyone has any ideas, send them my way!

Oh, and this guy, just because he's awesome (he's gonna kill me for this pic but I LOVE IT!)

Hey you flirty fox

So this is my first time blogging properly from my phone, completely seperate and a million miles (well, a few feet) away from my laptop, on the new blogger app!! This may not seem that big a deal to some, but it's huge for me. Before I could only blog 'properly' on my laptop because you could never edit pictures on the blogger app, or I didn't know how to anyway. But now you can! And it will make this so much easier for when I go to America at the end of the year. Wahoo!! But that's not the real reason for this post, this post is to show off my amazing beautiful absolutely freakin awesome new tattoo!

TADAAAAAH!!
How beautiful is that?! I got it done at The Liverpool Tattoo Convention at the Adelphi Hotel. It was amazing. I was so nervous about getting tattooed In front of thousands of people, all staring at me and watching me tryin to keep a brave face. But it was totally fine. I loved being around all like minded people and it actually didn't hurt that bad (only round the edges near my arm pit, jeeze tht killed!) I just love the tattoo community, it's just so down to earth, my tattooist was pointing out really famous tattooers And saying like 'oh yeh that's so-and-so's tattooist' like some one dead famous and just saying hey to them, it was really surreal. I wish I could of had more time to wander round and look at everyone, maybe scope out my next person to get my calves done :D I'm definitely going next year, if not as a model, just to have a mosey round, best get saving as there was so much I wanted to buy!!
I am so In love with this piece it's unreal. I love the fox, he's cheeky little grin and his flirty eyes are going to get him into a lot of trouble I think. I can't wait to get this coloured and finished off, it's just going to be so amazing!!

Today is my first day at work with it and I'm not looking forward to it. I'm going to cover it cling film so I don't accidentally knock the scab (eeew) off and it's super super warm in the shop so, fun times!

Fusion Studios

The other week, Me and my mummy went to Fusion Studios in Manchester to have our selves a little photo shoot. We do one every few years as something fun to do, and to have some professional nice pictures of us. Where not the posed-photo type of people but we always have a laugh and its lovely memories to have (and we never take it seriously, even if the photographer thinks we are!) I actually really liked the photos of us even if its not our usual style. I'm not going to show them all but I will share my four favorites. Please feel free to laugh at the awkwardness and obvious 'posing', I know I did.
I love how geeky the last two are. I had to have my batman converse and Star Wars top in there some where! I think my all time fave outfits of us was my Aztec red dress and mums romper and knitted cardigan, there were some lovely photos of us in those outfits. So I had a really lovely time and it was a really fun day once we got into it. Cant wait for the next one!

Currently

So I've been away with the fairies lately. I cant seem to keep my mind on one thing at all, its just all over the place. Probably because my life feels like its all over the place at the moment. Not in a bad way, not at all, I'm just sort of at a cross roads/in between place at the moment where I'm sort of moving on to something else but still half in my old life. Its a very odd feeling and not good for concentrating or getting things done. I feel like I've had so much to blog about, yet nothing at all, so here's a Currently post. I've added a few new ones to the list as well, maybe that way I can get everything down and get my head on straight haha!

Loving: My bed. It's new. It's massive. It's comfy. It's amazing.

Hating: Being in work when the sun is shinning gloriously outside. I have the weekend off and I just know its going to rain. But my fingers are crossed that I get at least one day with a bit a sun on my face.

Thinking about: EVERYTHING! My brain just wont shut up! It's actually annoying me how much stuff is whirring around my skull, I feel like I've got so much to do, yet when I actaully have time to do things my mind goes blank. It's so frustrating!

Avoiding: Quitting the gym. I really really want to. I just hate confrontation, or being made to think that I'm in the wrong. Hate it. I really have to do it though because I cant afford to waste that money. I think I need to give my self a pep talk before I go in.

Anticipating: My tattoo! I'm starting my sleeve on Sunday at the Liverpool Tattoo Convention (If your going on Sunday stop by the Inkarma booth and say hi, or laugh at me in pain, either is fine) I can't wait to finally get it started and I'm excited to see what it will turn out like. I've seen the design and its just....WOW!

Dreading: Being in work with a fresh/healing tattoo. I have to wear long sleeves because of said tattoo's and I'm not looking forward to having the itchy-gooey-grossness in the heat of the coffee shop. Unpleasant.

Listening to: Mumford & Sons. Can't get enough. Love them!

Reading: Insurgent by Veronica Roth. I'm so over it. I loved the first book, Divergent, but this is just dragging and too many people are dying and its just not doing it for me any more. I need to finish it soon, or I'll throw it out the window.

Watching: GAME OF THRONES!! Oh my lord, amazing! I'm obsessed. Obsessed! I watch series 1 and 2 in a matter of days and now I'm trying to give myself a break before series 3. It's just fantastic. You have to watch it!!

Eating: Everything. I seem to have developed a bottomless appetite recently. I'm just devouring everything I can get my hands on. I ate a whole banana loaf cake today with out even realizing, and that was after a pizza, a cookie and two oranges. Oh and a packet of crisps!

Drinking: Iced Caramel Macchiato. 1 shot Guatemala coffee. (my mouth is drooling just thinking about it)

Wishing: That there was more time in the day. I need more time. Not a lot, just an hour or two would be lovely. Just to do a little crafting, see friends and family, that sort of thing.

And then there was four

That's right, we are welcoming a fourth member to our family very soon!! I am beyond excited! Before you all get too excited though, it's not mine (I wish!) My dads wife Sarah is the expecting lady. We are all so happy an feeling very blessed to be adding a new little Woo to our family. We don't know what it is yet, we find out in May, and I can't wait!! I can't stand the suspense of not knowing, I want to buy things and plan things for the little one, and I'm finding it very difficult when I have no idea what it will be!? I think we're all hoping for a little girl, but I think it might be a boy. Don't ask me why but I keep referring to it as a boy, but I'm probably wrong. Either way I'm super super excited about this, and have pretty much had to stop myself blogging because I was going to blurt it out haha!!The house is just chaos at the moment. We have had a major major clean up and throw out of all the clutter and junk we've accumulated (which was a stupid amount!) and were making way for baby Woo. Dad and Sarah are in the process of getting the baby room sorted and trying to figure out everything they need, while my head is whirring with craft ideas of toys and baby blankets and cool things to make. (I'm going a little craft crazy as I also have a craft fair coming up in a few weeks to try plan for.) We had a massive throw out of things in the garage (I never new how big it was!) It was so cool to go through all the old stuff that we had forgotten about, and oddly satisfying to throw things away! I found it very therapeutic to make the decision to throw things away that I had horded for so long. Its weird how you priorities change over time and how things that once seemed important loose all meaning. I shall definitely be having a sort out of my things more often from now on.I also made lots of new spider friends in the garage. This one being the king of them all. He was a huge meaty beast and I names him Myles. He kept following me round, I think it was more that my boot was the nearest shelter after we moved the wood pile that had been his home for the past 8 years. Poor Myles, I kinda felt sorry for him (but his webs were awesome!) So yeh, Baby Woo is due some time in September and I just can't wait to say hello to the little guy or gal!
On a completely unrelated note. This happened the other day, and it is the most satisfying things in the world and probably one of my random favorite things. Breaking into a new peanut butter. So good!

a little bit of wood in a metal world

The Oast House. If you haven't been, you need to. Its awesome and I'm gutted that the nearest one to me is in Manchester. Me and Mother went there the other day after out Mother and Daughter photo shoot (post coming soon). The one in Manchester is slap bag in the middle of a brand new shopping complex called Spinningfields, which is all metal, concrete and glass. It's like someone has time traveled an old-fashioned hunting lodge right into the present day. It couldn't be more out of place if it tried, yet it oddly works. And it must have some draw and novelty too it because it was packed! It's so cool! It is a tiny place and the kitchen is outside in a little hut and its all BBQ and smoke house. They don't have plates either, everything is served in a sort of wooden box tray or they have kebabs which are served from this hanging thing with chips on the bottom. We didn't eat anything here, but next time we go I'll be sure to take some pics of the food, it all looked delicious! That light. Oh. Wow. It was amazing!! It's a rubbish picture but it was made of all kind crazy stuff! Mason jars, tin cans, rope, lanterns, bird cages. It was amazing! I would love to replicate it in my living room but I would have no idea where to start! Maybe that's a job for pinterest...'how to put light bulbs in just about anything'

Have you ever been to an Oast House? Or are there any cool/interdependent/quirky places to eat or drink round you? I'd love to hear about them, maybe I might visit one day!

tea and other things

The other week me and Tim had a rare two days off together, and its was lovely! the weather stay nice and its was just so good to spend some time together chatting, drinking tea, eating and just general doing of things. It's days like that, that make me excited about the future and whats to come in our lives. Just happy days all round.

p.s If you haven't tried Cherry Blossom tea, I urge you to get on it. Yummiest herbal/infusion/fancy tea in the world!

Lets Do The Time Warp

The other day me and mother went to see the Rocky Horror Show. It was my Christmas present from mum, neither of us had seen if before, but we've always wanted to and thought it would be fun anyway. It. Was. Amazing! We had so much fun dressing up and going all out with the costumes. I was really nervous that we would be the only ones but how wrong I was!! I almost felt a little under dressed haha! I had such a blast it was just brilliant! When I got home the first thing I did was buy it on DVD and I cant wait to watch it! I loved how the show was really interactive and everyone was joining in. It was a shame I didn't have a clue what was going on, but I will definitely be going to see it again, so next time, we'll be ready!!

This week has been such a busy one with work! I feel like I've just been at it non stop, and I cant wait to have two days off on Tuesday and Wednesday. Me and T have, both have Tues and Wed off, which is just crazy!! We literally never have days off together, so we are going to make the most of it by watching films, finding me a new bed and just basically having a relaxing chill out time, and I cant wait! I hope it carry's on being lovely weather because it would total suck if the weather had been as nice has it has been right up to my days off then go bad again, but I'm expecting it, as that is just our luck recently.

Mother-daughter style: Aztec

Well howdy guys! Sorry about the long absence, I seem to be unbelievably busy at the moment. I couldn't say what with though, I just seem to have no time to just sit and blog. I thought I didn't miss it but sitting here writing this, I really do. I miss documenting things and sharing things with the friends I've made. I miss reading through the blogs I follow and seeing what cool things people are up to in their lives. So here's to trying to make time to blog more.

These pics were taken last Wednesday when me and mum went on our mother-daughter mothers day meal. I'll do another post about that later this week but for now here's our outfits. I love love love this dress. I bought the same one but in a different colour and pattern and I just want to wear them all the time! I really love this style, sort of bohemian rocker? I definitely think I've found 'my style' with this, and I'm looking forward to adding gradually to my wardrobe. Mum looked stunning in her new romper too.

Such A special love

So this is kinda a valentines day post. I don't really celebrate valentines day, all that fluffy toys holding hearts and stupid cards make me sick, I don't like how there is a 'special' day to tell someone you love them, and the whole thing just rubs me the wrong way. This year however was a little different. Me and Tim decided to hand make our presents. It was so lovely and more personal than something shop bought. Unfortunately we were both working so we couldn't do anything on the actual day anyway but we had a nice evening before and the day after. His present to me was so cool! He hand sewed a cute little fox teddy. I made him an ambrodiery of a Kobe Bryant quote. It was our first valentines day together, and I loved that there was no pressure to be all 'Valentines-y' Cant wait for next year...already got some cool hand made ideas in my head!
